Government Spending

Government Spending

Should the Federal Government consume over 25% of the GDP output in the United States each year? Should the government be spending like drunken sailors with money "we the people" don't have? In each of our personal lives we have to be fiscally responsible, live within our means, and plan for rainy days. However, the Federal Government seems to believe they have and endless supply of "we the people's" resources. It is negligent, if not criminal to spend in this manner and we are tired of it.

Several thousand Taxed Enough Already (TEA) Parties have been held all over the country. The first round was in February 2009 with hundreds attending. The second round was on the symbolic day of April 15th with at lease 1 million attending. The third round was on July 4, 2009 with 37,000 attending in Dallas alone.

The constitution clearly enumerates the limited powers of the Federal Government. Each bill and subsequent funding requirement should be measured against the powers lent by the people to the Federal Government.

The social programs that both the Federal and State Governments have embarked on over the last 50 years are going to be the demise of this country. The few "real" taxpayers of this country cannot continue to carry the burden of hand outs to a larger and larger group of individuals and corporations that are deemed "to big to fail". Who is going to bail out the Federal Government? How long with the foreign debt holders of the United States continue to sit by with debt that has no collateral backing? By continuing to print money, we will see hyper inflation and the current federal deficit of $11,558,437,111,092 may actually be equivalent to a loaf of bread. What will your savings be in compared to that?

"We the people", who lent the government the power must take it back, find representatives that are fiscally responsible and who will uphold the U.S. Constitution.
